Chris Champion

My name is Chris Champion and I am married to Ashley and am the father of 3 awesome boys. I have been a teacher and coach for 13 years, attended MSU where I was a history major and a member of the track and field team, and I am originally from Mayfield, Ky. My wife and I chose to remain in Murray after we both graduated from MSU. My wife is a mental health therapist at Bridges Family Center and I am a social studies teacher, head football coach, and assistant track coach at Calloway County High School. I have been at Calloway for 3 years, and spent my last 10 at Mayfield High School. Our sons attended the Calloway County School System. For recreation, we enjoy camping, hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, and kayaking.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been married to my amazing wife for 12 years. My twins sons, Emmitt and Gunnar, are 9 years old and our youngest son, Avett, is 3 years old.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am currently a social studies teacher, head football coach, and assistant track coach at Calloway County High School. I have been here for 3 years. I spent the last 10 years at Mayfield High School, where I was a social studies teacher, assistant football coach, and head track coach. What keeps me passionate about teaching and coaching are the connections I can make with young people.  I love being a small part of their story, and if I can help them better their circumstances then I would truly be living my dream.
